Whilst at CHI last week I was browsing at the Springer Publisher stand and they told me about a new publication format. It’s called “Springer Briefs” and they look for submissions of around 50-125 pages. It seems a nice idea, as the publication is longer than a journal but shorter than manuscript or book so would be nice for a case study, report or big literature review. They exist for a broad range of subject areas including law, ethics, computer science, sociology etc and turnaround is fast too at  8-12 weeks after acceptance.
